This was the eighth reunion of Group 54
since we all first met at PK in 1964 . Previous reunions having been held in London’s Anemos Greek Restaurnant ,The Exiles Club Twickenham, Porthcurno , Brittany , and this year Ponte de Lima in Northern Portugal .

Next year we are planning to go to Malta and then in 2004 to celebrate our 40^th year of existence we shall return to Porthcurno yet again . There is some discussion on putting on a version of Valley Varities " And the Buffs " but this depends on getting in contact with our MC from the 60’s Ken Coulter who we have lost touch with over the years.

This year we rented a Villa on the outskirts of Ponte de Lima which proved to be an excellent choice with superior accommodation which included a swimming pool , tennis court , snooker table , chapel and Jacuzzi in the West Wing. It reminded one of the good old days that were enjoyed by F1 posted to Carcavelos , or perhaps in Vigo which was not far away.

After a week of strenuous exercise and healthy eating we left to spend the last two night in the Douro Valley and the Cellars of Porto . Great efforts were put into tasting and selecting the best Late Bottled Vintage ports available.

Those present this year were Barrie and Diane Littlefair , Trevor and Carole Davis , Fred and Luiza Hanley , Mick and Chris Cook , Ken and Lilliana Holmes . Apologies were received from Peter and Maureen Taylor who were otherwise occupied in Australia . We hope the success of the reunions will carry on to Malta and Porthcurno and maybe Gibraltar in the forthcoming years .
